Konec IoT network typology

The Konec IoT network diagram is intended to clearly and accurately illustrate how Konec products connect, for the benefit of customers, network engineers, electricians, builders, and other relevant parties.

Its primary goal is to provide customers with a clear, at-a-glance understanding of each product's connection method—whether wireless or wired—while also explaining the rationale behind the network architecture and the practical steps required to transform a conventional home into an intelligent, Konec-powered smart ecosystem.

By demystifying the connectivity logic and illustrating the seamless integration of devices, the diagram ultimately reinforces customer confidence in the dependability and performance of Konec’s wireless solutions.

This project presented three major challenges:

Preserving professional integrity

The underlying technical connection details are fixed and cannot be modified, meaning all visual enhancements had to be achieved without sacrificing a single piece of accurate information.

Building a user-centred structure from the ground up

With no pre-existing template to follow, I was responsible for designing the entire explanatory framework, ensuring that even the most intricate network configurations could be grasped at a glance.

Bridging the expert–customer divide

I first had to immerse myself in the technical domain, then systematically refine that knowledge and translate it into language that is not only understandable but also genuinely helpful for customers with little or no technical background.

Konec Product Blocks.

After establishing the overall product family view, I turned my attention to the individual devices. To make each product's purpose immediately understandable, I created category‑based installation diagrams that pinpoint exactly where and how each unit is placed in a real home environment.

My visual strategy focused on two key priorities:

Location & function at a glance – Every illustration is designed to show not just the device itself, but also its physical placement and the specific job it performs, so that users can quickly connect the visual to real‑world application.
Intuitive product differentiation – By grouping products logically and using consistent visual cues, I ensured that even users unfamiliar with smart home technology can easily distinguish between devices and understand what each one contributes to the overall system.
